In Memory of my beloved Grandfather
William J. Leventry
July 16th, 1921 - May 18th, 2009
What would you tell me if you still had your mind to speak...You were always the one to lead
It was if our conversations took place in the movements of two silhouettes on the dance floor
I was the smaller of the two, and stood on your shoes
What will I do without your support?
I don't want to dance alone, but you don't want me to stop
No one will ever replace you, your scintillating brilliance, humor, strength, magnanimity
Do you promise to sit out only long enough to catch your breath?
My feet on the floor, eyes on you...
Heart beats are frenetic with the alacrity of meeting again
Everything is trifling,
In this moment even the memories lack substance
All that seemed to hold true comes into question
Faltering, my eyes lock on yours knowing that when we are home
We will dance together again.
